Peter Ainsworth is the Managing Director of Meehan, Boyle, Black & Bogdanow. He joined the firm as an attorney in 2003, after volunteering his time as a law student assisting with the firm’s pro bono claims before the federal Victim Compensation Fund, helping families who lost loved ones in the September 11th tragedies. Since then, he has continued his commitment to helping those in need by handling many of the firm’s medical malpractice, product liability, and general liability cases. He is one of the firm’s lead trial attorneys and loves bringing his courtroom experience and knack for understanding medicine to bear while providing strategic input on all of the firm’s cases. He was lead trial counsel in the firm’s multimillion-dollar verdict against an international hotel chain, held responsible for the wrongful death drowning of a father of four, one of the most meaningful moments of his career.
Outside the courtroom, Peter is actively involved in multiple bar associations on a state and national level. He is currently President of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys and serves on its Executive Committee and Board of Governors. He lives in Natick, Massachusetts on the banks of the Charles River, and enjoys canoeing and kayaking with family and friends, while failing to catch fish.
Peter graduated from Boston College in 1993 and from Suffolk University Law School as the David J. Sargent Fellow in 2003. He was named a Director of the firm in 2011 and Managing Director in 2019.
