Meet Joshua Hayes

Josh currently has a lead role on behalf of the State of Alabama in the National Prescription Opiate Litigation MDL 2804. This nationwide litigation seeks to hold the manufacturers and distributors of opioids responsible for the opioid use disorder epidemic that has stricken our nation.

Alabama has been particularly hard hit and Josh is honored to have been appointed as a Deputy Attorney General by Attorney General Steve Marshall as the state seeks to recoup its losses and provide for the future of dealing with this crisis.

In 2013, Josh was awarded the Inaugural Gregory S. Cusimano Award by the Alabama Association for Justice’s Emerging Leaders Caucus for his work as Chair of ALAJ’s Emerging Leaders’ Caucus. Josh further contributes to the community through pro bono work offered by the Alabama Bar Association’s Volunteer Lawyers Program.

Josh and his wife Jennifer have two daughters, Stella Grace and Caroline.  They attend Church of the Highlands.
