Meet John H. Skaggs

John Skaggs has been practicing law for nearly 40 years in the primary areas of workers’ compensation and toxic torts and practices in state, federal, and administrative courts. Born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia, he remained in the region to serve his community after graduating from the West Virginia University College of Law. Before joining the firm, John was an Assistant Attorney General for the State of West Virginia.

John represents people injured by asbestos, lead, carbon disulfide, trichloroethylene, polychlorinated biphenyls, isocyanates, defective equipment, coal dust, and other substances, and helps clients who have suffered injuries to their legs, arms, backs, pelvises, and skulls or contracted serious diseases such as peripheral neuropathy, asbestosis, silicosis, mesothelioma, occupational asthma, occupational bronchitis, pleural disease, liver cancer, bladder cancer, adenocarcinoma, sarcoma, and squamous cell lung cancer. He also represents clients whose properties have been contaminated by dioxin, coal dust, and fines and fluff generated by mechanical car and appliance shredders, or who endure noise pollution from trucking and recycling activities.
