Meet David Muncy

David A. Muncy joined Plaxen Adler Muncy, P.A. upon graduation from law school in 2012 and was made a partner in the firm in 2017. While in law school David worked for both plaintiffs’ personal injury firms and an insurance defense firm, and after working on both sides he decided he would much rather fight for the compensation of injured people than defend insurance companies. While in law school, David served on the Executive Board of the University of Baltimore Law Review, competed on the Robert Wagner Moot Court Team, and was selected by his fellow students to represent them on the Dean Search Committee that selected the law school’s current dean. David also represented indigent criminal defendants as a Rule 16 Public Defender in Baltimore City District Court.

David graduated from the University of Maryland College Park in 2009, and graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2012 magna cum laude. He was inducted into the Heuisler Honor Society, a distinction reserved for those graduating in the top ten percent of their class. In 2018, David was elected to the office of Parliamentarian for the Maryland Association for Justice (MAJ), and is committed to fighting for injured victim’s rights and civil justice. In 2020, he was elected Secretary of MAJ, the youngest lawyer in Maryland history to become an officer for the organization; he still serves in this position. He has also testified before the Maryland General Assembly on bills that affect the rights of injured victims.

David is also a member of the American Association for Justice and attends several continuing legal education programs around the country each year to become a better trial lawyer.

David focuses his practice on personal injuryworkers’ compensation, and Social Security Disability cases. He has tried hundreds of cases before the Maryland District and Circuit Courts, Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission, and the Social Security Administration. In 2015, David was named to the Daily Record’s list of “20 in Their 20s,” and was selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers’ list of Maryland Rising Stars for 2017. He was also named to the Top 40 under 40 list by the National Trial Lawyer’s Association. Since 2013, David has volunteered with Wills for Heroes, a non-profit organization which helps first responders put their legal affairs in order. He is also the Co-Chair of the Howard County Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Division. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family.
