Matt Sims is a trial lawyer who represents victims and their families in catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases. Prior to joining Rapoport Law Offices, Mr. Sims worked as a defense attorney at a prominent Chicago law firm, representing some of the largest construction contractors, hospital systems, and insurance companies in the country.

Mr. Sims now uses his knowledge and experience in how corporations and insurers analyze and defend personal injury and wrongful death cases in order to help individuals who have been harmed by the negligence of others, in order to obtain accountability and maximize their recovery.

In addition to representing the injured and their families in the trial court, Mr. Sims also has notable experience in both the Illinois Appellate and Supreme Courts. Most recently, he championed an expansion of Illinois law that prevents construction contractors from "passing the buck" on safety, ultimately benefiting construction workers by incentivizing contractors to protect workers or face liability. See Camper v. Burnside, 2013 IL App. (1st) 121589.

Mr. Sims graduated from The John Marshall Law School with a Certificate in Trial Advocacy, a distinction awarded to less than 3% of students. At The John Marshall Law School, Mr. Sims won the Dean Herzog Moot Court Competition, while also writing what was recognized as the Best Brief of the competition. Supplementing his education during law school, Mr. Sims also clerked for the Cook County Public Defender's Office, as well as the Presiding Judge of the Fifth Municipal District of Cook County.
