About Valerie Johnson
Valerie Johnson is dedicated to defending the rights of injured workers. Valerie has represented workers across North Carolina since 1994.
A graduate of UNC and UNC Law School, Valerie is the co-editor of North Carolina Workers’ Compensation Law: A Practical Guide to Success at Every Stage of a Claim. She serves on the board of directors of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and in 2013, Valerie was voted chair of its Workers’ Compensation Section.
Valerie is also a member of the Board of Lawyers Mutual Liability Insurance Company of N.C. Valerie has been board certified in workers’ compensation law since 2000. She has taught trial advocacy at UNC Law School since 2003 and has taught workers’ compensation law at the Wake Forest University School of Law. She was admitted to the National Academy of Social Insurance in 2011.
Valerie has been married to her husband Sam for more than 20 years. They have two children, Alex and Sam III, and a dog named Grace./p>
