About Michael Schwartz

Michael Schwartz is a Rhode Island native and a graduate of Classical High School. After college at American University and law school at SUNY Buffalo, he began his legal career with the firm of Lovett and Linder where he concentrated his practice in the area of Workers’ Compensation law.

Among his successes is the multi million-dollar jury verdict for the plaintiff in the case of Oliviera v. Woman & Infant’s Hospital. Michael has also continued his interest in the arena of workers compensation where he is very active representing clients on a daily basis.

He has also served as the past Chair of the Rhode Island Supreme Court Committee on Character and Fitness. He is a former officer of the Rhode Island Trial Lawyer’s Association and a former member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America where, among other posts, he served as the Chair of the Ethical Conduct Committee.

Outside of the legal field, Michael is a past President of the Rhode Island Jewish Historical Association. He is also the sponsor of the annual Gary Braithwaite Memorial Lecture at American University.
