22729112_10159286091210018_7668350111761975920_n (1)With nearly 50 million people facing hunger in the U.S., this year’s IB Day of Action focuses on Fighting Hunger!

For the 4th Annual IB Day of Action (#IBDayofAction), member firms are working collectively to bring awareness to hunger issues and help feed families and individuals in need for the Thanksgiving holiday by teaming up with local food banks and pantries, and other organizations across the U.S.

This year’s event is already turning out to be a huge success!

Check out what members firms are doing for this year’s IB Day of Action:

Corporate member firm Advocate Capital, Inc. is working with the Second Harvest Food Bank in Nashville, TN. The firm has been volunteering with the food bank for several years and plans to continue the tradition. For their IB Day of Action project, the firm’s Team Hope will volunteer at the facility and sort food. They are also hosting a virtual and traditional food drive.

The Atlee Hall, LLP team hosted a food drive to help needy families and individuals in Lancaster, PA. They also partnered with several local businesses to make an even larger impact.

For the second year in row, Bailey & Greer PLLC is working with the Boys & Girls Club of Memphis for the firm’s Day of Action project. They plan to volunteer their time and give back for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Bernstein Law Firm has joined Lawyers Fighting Hunger and the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma for the firm’s 7th annual turkey giveaway. On November 17, the firm will pass out nearly 1,000 free turkeys to help those in need in Norman, Ok.

The Buns, Cunningham & Mackey, P.C. team is hosting a turkey giveaway Monday, November 20, 2017.

22815348_10159290677180018_3820411330691359707_nCaseyGerry volunteered at Feeding San Diego. The firm spent the day sorting food and stocking shelves. They also donated $1,000, which paid for 4,000 meals, as well as collected and donated 217 lbs. of food, which equals 180 meals.

Members of Chhabra & Gibbs, P.A. will giveback to the Mississippi Food Network by spending sometime volunteering at their warehouse. The firm is also hosting a food drive leading up to their volunteer day.

On Saturday, November 11, member firm Chaffin Luhana LLP and The Chaffin Luhana Foundation is giving away more than 700 turkeys in Pittsburgh. The firm is also working closely with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania,  Allegheny County Department of Human Services, Veterans Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania, Giant Eagle Supermarket and DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Pittsburgh

Claris Marketing is teaming up with Tampa-based IB firm Wagner McLaughlin to help give back to the families at the Boys & Girls Club George M. Steinbrenner Family West Tampa location. On Nov. 16., they will pass out turkeys and the fixings to all of the families for Thanksgiving.

Atlanta-based member firm Childers, Schlueter & Smith, LLC will visit the Women’s Community Kitchen on Nov. 16 to serve lunch. Members from the firm will prepare plates and serve the ladies and their children.

Copeley Johnson & Groninger PLLC is partnering with North Carolina A. Philip Randolph Institute, Inc. to host a food drive to benefit Food for the Hungry Food Pantry.

On November 9, fifteen members from D’Amore Law Group will volunteer at the Oregon Food Bank’s Beaverton location. During their visit, they will pack food and grocery donations to help those in need. The firm has worked with the Oregon Food Bank since 2011.

The Farris, Riley & Pitt, LLP team is hosting a food drive to benefit the First Light Shelter in Birmingham, AL.

Corporate member Garretson Resolution Group is splitting up the firm’s efforts to help give back to three different food banks. The firm’s Cincinnati office is hosting a food drive and volunteering at the Loveland Food Pantry. Team members from the Charlotte office have teamed up with the Second Harvest Food Bank for a food drive. They are also volunteering at Urban Ministries for the Operation Sandwich to build sandwiches to feed the homeless. The firm’s New Orleans office is also hosting a food drive and will be volunteering at the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Omaha-based member firm Inserra Kelley Sewell will donate turkeys to those in need. This will be the sixth year the firm has donated turkeys for Thanksgiving.

Corporate member firm Lawsuit Financial is collecting food donations to help those in need in Michigan for the Thanksgiving season.

Members of Lewis, Feldman & Lehane, LLC plan to spend the day volunteering at the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama. The firm will spend the morning sorting food and stock shelves.

23031415_10159321386550018_7658199752880606894_nMcCoy & Hiestand, PLC split their efforts in two. On November 2, the firm’s Louisville office volunteered at St. Matthews Area Ministries. They donated hundreds of cans of food and toilet paper, and stocked shelves. The firm’s Bradstown office partnered with a local middle school for a canned food drive. With the help of the food drive, they donated more than 650 cans of food to St. Vincent de Paul food pantry. The firm volunteered by sorting donations and stocking shelves. 

Members from Murray & Murray Co., L.P.A. plan to participate in a group volunteer project at the Boys & Girls Club of Erie County, as well as provide donations.

Team members from O’Connell & Aronowitz are volunteering at the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York in Latham. During their visit, they will work in the Salvage Sorting Room.

The O’Keeffe O’Brien Lyson Foss team is working together to collect donations to benefit the Emergency Food Pantry. They also plan to spend time volunteering at the pantry.

Members from Pogust Braslow & Millrood, LLC will be volunteering and participating in Thanksgiving themed activities with the children at the The Wissahickon Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia.

On November 17, members from the Prince, Glover & Hayes team plan to serve turkey, dressing and all the trimmings to families who are housed by Reverend Dowdy who is a pastor of Jesus Way. The residents are women and children who are victims of domestic abuse.

Chicago-based firm Rapoport Law Offices is teaming up with the Ronald McDonald House and will be hosting a Thanksgiving meal for the families on November 16.

The Rinehardt Law Firm team is hosting their 1st annual ThanksGIVEaway on November 18. They are giving away 150 turkeys along with all the fixings to families in the Ontario, OH community.

Shaheen & Gordon, PA is hosting a Thanksgiving food drive. They plan to deliver the donations to the Caring & Sharing Food Drive, which benefits more than 20 nonprofits in the Seacoast region, as well as to the New Hampshire Food Bank, and the Good Shepherd Food Bank in Maine.

22894541_10159317201140018_5018002448330841334_nThe Law Offices of Thomas L. Young is joining Claris Marketing and Wagner McLaughlin to help support the families at the Boys & Girls Club of Tampa Bay — George M. Steinbrenner Family West Tampa location.

On November 18, Ventura Law is hosting their 1st annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway. The firm is giving away 250 turkeys to those in need in the Danbury, CT area.

Wagner McLaughlin will be giving back to the families at the Boys & Girls Club of Tampa Bay — George M. Steinbrenner Family West Tampa location. They sponsored the turkey donations for the families and will volunteer with the Claris Marketing team.

Honolulu-based firm Wayne Parsons Law Offices will be volunteering at the Hawaii Food Bank for their Senior Food Box Packaging event. The firm will also provide a financial donation to the food bank.  

Whitley Law Firm plans to split the firm’s efforts to help give back to two different locations. Both office locations — Raleigh and Kinston — are raising money and the firm will match whatever is raised to purchase food to donate. On November 16, the firm’s Raleigh office will deliver the donations to Wake County’s Urban Ministries and the firm’s Kinston’s office will deliver donations to Mary’s Kitchen.  

Orlando-based firm Wooten Kimbrough, P.A. is working with One Heart for Women and Children. The firm is collecting food donations and gift cards in preparation for Thanksgiving.

Wrona DuBois, PLLC has partnered with the Utah AIDS Foundation for this year’s IB Day of Action. The firm providing donates for the foundation’s annual holiday food basket drive. They also plan to spend some time volunteering and helping put together the baskets.
