IB Member Agostinho J. Ribeiro Appointed to Judicial Branch’s Civil Commission

2064365_1Danbury, Conn.-based IB member Agostinho J. Ribeiro from Ventura, Ribeiro & Smith Attorneys At Law was recently appointed to the Judicial Branch’s Civil Commission for a term of three years. The Civil Commission is charged with the status review of the civil docket and the development of practices that will improve the administering of judicial services to litigants, the bar and public, and will promote the resolution of cases in a fair, timely and cost-effective manner.

As the only member of the Commission from the Danbury area, Ribeiro can provide a voice for any comments others wish to share at its quarterly meetings.

Ribeiro is a longtime advocate for victims as a personal injury attorney. He is also the founding member of the Portuguese Bar Association for which he served as its first president, and now sits on the board of trustees. Additionally, he serves on the board of corporators for Union Savings Bank in Danbury, and serves the City of Danbury by sitting as a Downtown City Center Council commissioner.
