Alabama-based IB member Jon Lewis of Lewis, Feldman and Lehane, LLC recently volunteered to help serve up some of Birmingham’s best cuisines in efforts to support at-risk kids in the local schools.
Lewis, along with other local business volunteers and some of Birmingham’s most popular food and beverage trucks, joined forces to participate in the Third Annual Protective Life Food Truck Roundup, an event benefiting PreSchool Partners, a nonprofit dedicated to preparing at-risk 3- and 4-year olds, and their parents for kindergarten in Birmingham’s public schools.
The event, held at Colonial Brookwood Village in Birmingham, included 13 of the city’s most popular food trucks, three beverage vendors, live radio from Birmingham Mountain Music, activities for the family and much more.
The event brought out more than 600 people and all proceeds were donated to PreSchool Partners.
With the help of Lewis, other local business volunteers and the food and beverage stations, the event was able to raise approx. $60,000 for PreSchool Partners.
“We were honored to help with the Food Truck Round up and raise funds for PreSchool Partners, said Lewis. “It was a fun event enjoyed by all, and it was nice having two of my own children helping the cause.”
