Feeding the Hungry One Family at a Time

Families Across Oklahoma Received Turkeys This Thanksgiving through Lawyers Against Hunger.

For the third-straight year, IB members Hugh Robert, Noble McIntyre and David Bernstein spread Thanksgiving cheer to Oklahomans, distributing turkeys and food boxes to more than 4,000 families across the state through their initiative, Lawyers Against Hunger, a nonprofit whose sole mission is to provide food to the less fortunate.

Through the work of dedicated lawyers, small businesses and other individuals, Lawyers Against Hunger raised more than $80,000 to purchase turkeys and food boxes through the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma and the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.

Lawyers Against Hunger reached families in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Norman and El Reno. On Nov. 14-16, the organization distributed 700 turkeys and 500 food boxes to families and individuals in the Tulsa area, 500 turkeys in El Reno, 500 turkeys in Norman, and 1,300 turkeys in Oklahoma City, feeding 4,000+ families statewide.

If you are interested in working with Lawyers Against Hunger, there will be another event in spring 2013. At that time, Lawyers Against Hunger will add a distribution site in McAlester and possibly in Enid as well.
