IB Members Recognize Student-Athletes with Scholarship

If anyone knows what it takes to be successful in academics, it’s an attorney. But when you add to it the dedication, drive and discipline that comes with also being an athlete, it seems only fitting that some individuals be rewarded for their successes.

To that end, Nova Scotia-based Arnold Pizzo McKiggan has decided to offer student-athletes with its very own scholarship.

The partners at APM Law started the Scholar Athlete Program to acknowledge student-athletes in the 12th grade who exceed expectations in class and in athletic competition.

Each week from September to May, a 12th-grade student in Nova Scotia is selected as the APM Law: Scholar-Athlete of the Week and awarded a $100 scholarship to recognize his/her dedication.

In June, APM Law hosts a banquet for all of its scholar-athletes and their parents-guardians. One female and one male student-athlete will be selected as the APM Law: Scholar-Athletes of the Year.

Each winner will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship and receive a commemorative trophy to honor their achievement.
